Jonathan Safran Foer is the author of the novels "Everything is Illuminated" and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close." His new book, "Eating Animals," a work of nonfiction, comes out next week. In this weekend's edition of the Wall Street Journal, he offers "a modest proposal".

Interesting point of view.

Safran Foer was interviewed on "All Things Considered" Sunday afternoon, too.

The NYT had an equally interesting op-ed by Nicolette Hahn Niman, author of Righteous Porkchop. Niman is the wife of Bill Niman, founder of Niman Ranch, and as far as I am concerned she is a far more interesting source on this topic.
